Love Is Mysterious & Unpredictable

I write about love a lot. Of the 7 types, usually Eros, Ludus, Philia, Agape, and Pragma.

The first two are the driving force behind most of my writings, and ironically each has a distinct place in my own philosophizing of the world around me. Ludos, or the playful and uncommitted love, may seem like the one to stay away from, but in all honesty can be one of the key tools to keep many healthy relationships as you mature.

People want to feel connected and know they have a special place in someone's heart, but after we pair up, we often push our standards of self-righteousness to new heights, especially in the name of showing singular devotion to a jealous or insecure partner. This causes us to close off from the rest of the world, and often times discard important friendships that may have needed us as the years rolled on.

Now, one might be a bit confused as to why I am writing about love, as in the past year I've had my heart smashed and trampled on several times. Honestly, love is what helps me keep going. Serving, laughing, caring, and encouraging other people are my motivations in life, and I will never stop a damaged heart not repairing itself through doing what it does best.

I do miss being "in love," however. In fact, I'm amazed at how quickly love turned into nausea and brought me to a place where I can no longer stomach to see my ex. Because of this, I am trying my best to keep my heart where it needs to be -- in healing mode. No sense in letting temporal perceptions impact the long-term world around me, especially in the scope of there being children between us.

Obviously, my daughters still want us to get along, and so do I.

But, the beauty of love still hangs before me as a mystery, and I'm glad it's doing that. As time goes on, I hope to find it again, and this time, perhaps more fully and more holistically, with my partner truly wanting to know me, to love me, and to be my best friend, as I will be to her.
